A Little Bit About Me

I graduated from Western Illinois University in 2014 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Science with specific endorsements in both Social Studies and Reading. I myself am a product of Catholic Schools. 2024-2025 is my eleventh year teaching! I starting teaching 5th and 6th at a Catholic School in Rock Island, before “transferring” to JFK to teach 7th and 8th.

Although teaching is my career, my family is my life. My husband, Matthew, and I have been together for eleven years. He’s been with me through my entire teaching career, and I couldn’t ask for a more supportive partner. He understands what it takes to be a teacher-spouse!

I have two children, one of which is now with me here at JFK. Nothing brings me more joy than watching them learn and grow.

Classroom/School Behavior

  • 5-8 Grade Behavioral Log
  • Students are verbally told when they are put into the folder in an effort to help them get on the right track.
  • 3 times in one day = Detention :(

Dress Code

  • Please make sure to look at the policy on our website if you have questions.

Grading
I do not have a specific day of the week that I update grades, as I am constantly updating them all the time. Please be checking PowerSchool often.

Classroom
Most everything done for me will be on Google Classroom. I upload all notes to Google Classroom after we’ve completed them together in class. There are various times that we will be doing traditional paper and pencil work, and I always make ample copies in case an assignment is lost or a student is not here.

  • If a student it absent, it is the student’s responsibility to make sure he/she has everything needed from when the absence occurred.
