How can I Help?
While the entire community of Our Lady of Victory parish supports the parish through use of weekly envelopes, several other opportunities are available to assist the parish meet our financial goals and responsibilities.
The standing fundraisers all parishioners are encouraged to participate and/or take advantage of are found in the Support OLV/JFK menu (Gala, OLV Foundation, and Victory Vouchers). Please visit those pages to become familiar with those opportunities.

- Ladies Council – Bazaar and Rummage Sale
- Home and School – Spaghetti Dinner, Golf Outing, Fun Night, Pumpkin Run,
- Boy Scouts – Popcorn and wreath sales
- Girls Scouts – Cookie sales
- Band Boosters – Butter Braid sale, Birdies for Charity
- Youth Ministry – Special fundraisers for trips/events
With so many worthy needs and various groups throughout the parish responding, it is required that any new ideas or events be presented to the Parish Council for approval. The Council wishes to prevent duplication of projects or misunderstandings about expected projects.

In addition to fundraising specifically supporting Our Lady of Victory, there are also events benefiting all Catholic schools in the area.
The Mississippi Valley Student Tuition Organization (MVSTO) represents the Scott County K-12 Catholic Schools and grants tuition awards to households within specific income guidelines. The Eudcational Opportunities Act of 2006 allows Iowa residents to receive a 65% direct tax credit for contributions made to an Iowa STO. Contributions are also eligible for Federal tax deductions. The “Embracing our Future” capital campaign was created for Scott County K-12 Catholic Schools. The campaign sought to establish an $8 million endowment to fund faculty & staff benefits, coordinated marketing for Catholic schools, and a tuition assistance plan. Details can be found at www.embracingourfuture.org. Â Donations are still accepted.
As a member of the Diocese of Davenport, Our Lady of Victory also participates in the Annual Diocesan Appeal. This campaign funds approximately 70% of the annual diocesan budget and provides a wide range of programs and services that go beyond the ability of any one parish to support. Parishioners are asked to consider donating 1% of their household income. Pledges are welcome and payment can be made over 10-months. Periodic pledge reminders are mailed out.
