Billie Inskeep – Kindergarten

Thank you for choosing JFK for your child’s Educational Adventure! We are so excited to start the year with your kiddos! Mrs. Moya and I look forward to meeting each of you and helping your children learn to LOVE learning! We like to have a lot of fun in the classroom and are excited to get the year started!

My most important goal as your child’s kindergarten teacher is to teach them to LOVE learning. I want your child to come to school excited each day and leave looking forward to the next. I want to work with you and your child to help them to reach their full learning potential. I am looking forward to working with you and your child to make this year positive and productive! If you ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Academics:

Your child will be exposed to a variety of reading and writing experiences throughout the year.  Big books, stories, music, songs, puppets, and other visual activities will facilitate their learning of reading. In math, your child will learn numbers up to 100, shapes, addition, and subtraction.

HOMEWORK:

Your child will have homework every night except for Friday. Homework is a great review of what we are working on in the classroom, and we really appreciate you taking the time to work on it at home with your child. Please send homework back to school the next day in your child’s folder.

Mass

We attend mass every Wednesday. Sixth-grade students buddy with us during mass. The sixth graders are great examples of how we need to behave while we are in the church. We will also attend mass on any Holy Days of Obligation that school is in session for, you may check the olvjfk.com website to see when those days are going to be.

Scholastic book orders:

You can order books online from scholastic book orders whenever you would like. I will check the scholastic website during the middle of the month to submit any orders that have been placed. Once I submit the orders they will be shipped directly to school and usually take about a week to arrive. I will also be sending home scholastic flyers in your child’s take-home folder so feel free to order from the flyer as well.

A Little About Me!

I have been teaching at JFK since 2019. I graduated from Adams State University where I majored in Exercise Science and Sports Administration. After graduating from Adams State, I got my masters in Human Performance and Sport. Once we had our first child, I quickly realized that my passion for teaching super-exceeded my passion for aquatics. I received my teaching license in Special Education and Elementary Education in the state of New Mexico. I taught two years at a special education preschool and three years of kindergarten before we moved to Iowa. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband Darrell, and our two daughters, Peyton and Reese. We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, traveling, dance competitions, and athletic competitions.
