Classroom Information
Most assignments will be assigned to Google Classroom. If your son/daughter is gone they can log into class and see what assignments they missed.
Please check planners every night. Homework is expected to be turned in the next day unless stated otherwise. If it is a bigger project or has special instructions, a note will be written in the planner. I like to send emails home about bigger assignments. This way, parents know what is going on.
I understand extracurricular activities can make your night busy. I will try not to load a lot of homework in one night. The point of homework in my class is to review skills from the day. This is also a great way for you to see how your son/daughter is progressing.
Grades
I will update grades every Wednesday.
Behavior Binder
If your son/daughter is written in the behavior binder three times in one day, they will have to serve a detention. Depending on the severity of the issue will determine the length of the detention.
Please read the Behavior Policy https://www.olvjfk.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Discipline-Policy-2024-25.pdf
Please read the Dress Code Policy https://www.olvjfk.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Dress-code-2024-25.pdf
Civic Oration
This is an exciting time for your son/daughter! They will be competing in a speech competition to help them develop their speaking skills for high school. We will be working on this in class, but they are also expected to work on it outside of class. Please look out for material regarding this!
Confirmation
Students will complete different activities to help prepare them for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please look out for emails as I will be asking for your help in guiding your son/daughter in this process.

Biography
I am honored to be teaching at John F. Kennedy Catholic School. I started teaching 5th grade at JFK in August 2014. In August 2020, I moved to teaching 8th grade. Before teaching at JFK, I was a substitute teacher for Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline, and a few local Catholic schools. I received my Elementary Education degree from Saint Ambrose University in 2012. I completed my Master’s degree in Middle Level Education from Morningside University in 2023. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, especially my daughters Annika (5) and Elin (3), reading, swimming, and listening to music.
